Accessing support through your Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Axis Clinic is a collaborative team of psychologists, counsellors, therapists, dietitians and occupational therapists who are passionate supporting the mental health needs of our community.

FAQs

How do I make an appointment and do I need to speak with my employer before accessing support?

Some employees can make an appointment directly with us by emailing eap@axisclinic.com.au, whereas other employers will send us a referral on your behalf and we will then contact you.

If you are unsure of the process through your workplace, please email us at eap@axisclinic.com.au and we can help you find the information you need.

How many sessions can I access through my EAP?

Generally it is 3 sessions per employee per annum.

This can vary depending on your employer and you can confirm this with us when making the booking if you’re unsure.

Can I request more sessions through my employer after I have used all my EAP sessions?

EAPs are designed as short-term support for mental health. Some workplaces may approve additional sessions, and it is best to speak with your employer to find out if this is possible for you.

If you wish to continue after your EAP sessions are used, you are welcome to as a private client. Our friendly reception team can provide helpful information about our fees and rebates, please contact us to find out more.

Can my immediate family access support through my EAP as well?

Some workplaces cover family members as well, please check with your employer to find out whether your your EAP provides support to your immediate family. You can always email us at eap@axisclinic.com.au and we can confirm for you.

Is accessing support through an EAP anonymous?

If you have any questions or concerns about privacy when accessing support through your EAP, please get in touch with us so we can assist you.

For most employers, the names and identifying information of staff accessing support through an EAP is kept confidential.

Depending on your workplaces’ procedure for referrals through your EAP, they may know you are accessing services, however anything that is discussed in your session remains confidential and will not be passed on to your workplace.

Workplaces may receive an end of month report which provides an overview of their program, however this is general in nature and names or identifying information is not provided.
